Last December after I was done painting my house with several gallons of different color paint left over Grant suggested that I save the paint in canning jars. His justification that with the different colors it is super easy to access and fix wall dings.
Best advice ever! Have touched up walls with ease and no stress. Thanks Grant!!

And such pretty colors!! That is actually a great tip, thanks for sharing.
Wow! Hot and Smart! Way to go, Ruth ;)
great idea!
Ok, here's my add on to that -- if you want to buy more of the same colors ever again, take a digital photo of the lid (with the magical special quantities of lampblack, cadmium yellow, etc that make the paint color exactly what it is). Save that photo on your computer in a folder with other house and project pictures. My folder is named after my street, you know, so as not to confuse with any photos of my last house... hey, it's not OCD if I recognize my problem, right?!?!
I will take Lois' OCD one step farther and label the jar. :)
wow, great ideas! Mom
Your collection just looks so much classier.
I'm just impressed that y'all actually paint!!
This is SUCH a great idea! I am totally going to start doing this!! Great call!
I am with Lois and Jenn about labeling the jars...
However after painting my painter guessed way too much paint and we would need 100 jars and storage for those jars. Seriously we have gallons and gallons of paint, even some 5 gallon jugs!
Anyone want Behr paint?? 3 different neutral colors, a nice red, burnt orange, and dark blue??
