Turtles of Joy

I am a non-pet owner. In fact I wonder if pets really do bring joy to their owners (you don't own anything it owns you - sorry Katie, sorry Spot).
.
I am however the pet sitter. Charlie has come to visit on occassion and this week Tami asked if I could watch the turtles. I somehow thought this would mean going to her house once a day to feed. However, I was unaware of the complexity of a turtles life. They really need much more interaction than that.
.
So last night Dan delivered the monster tank, fish food (ickk) and 4 happy turtles. After receiving the speech on how they needed human interaction I was a little surprised to find out that they didnt have names; or if they did than Dan was unaware of what they are.
.
So, let me introduce you to Sky, Misty, Frederick and Mable as named by CEM and I.
.
If turtles are going to bring you joy you really must have a name for them.

I used to have a turtle. It was named after me and my two cousins:

We called him CDK

P.S. Katie is offended, we don't own her she is part of our family.

So Katie owns you :)

I am offended by this whole topic of "ownership".

Nobody owns anybody we are all part of a unit. The unit is a fully functioning family that goes by the overall name of Thomas. The Thomas family consists of David, Kim, Katie and Sydney.

O.K. That is truly a blog spot to laugh over. Honestly, can you hear me giggle. I just can't wait to share the blog with Dan and he can share in my joy of the sharing in your joy that I am sharing. What a hoot!

Pets bring a lot of love (I think that means dogs and cats, I can't imagine a turtle showing affection), they give unconditional love and you can give lots of unconditional care and attention. It is nice to have a pet sitter in the family. Mom

We have a cat..She is part of our family, always has, always will be.
I agree with Jane how can something bring you joy if they have no names. I couldn't see myself saying-he did walked up the rocks today. Great names!!

our "little ladies" are in the Katie-category of family members. But I paid for 'em, so I own 'em ;)

How can you interact with something that has no name? Good job on taking care of that issue!
