My dad is an information junkie. Whenever he travels a stack of magazines follows with him. Local random magazines get read for irrelevant facts.
When I drive to a destination a box of magazines follow. When I fly it is whatever can fit in my Harley (thanks Karie Belko) back pack.
And here I am in Niagra with 3 local newspapers in hand.

Don't forget to read the Classifieds. You can get a real sense of how the locals view value and sometimes get a great deal. I once bought a car in Denver and another in Honolulu.
