My Epiphanies

Last night I woke up three times laughing in my sleep. I sat down to write an amusing blog on the silliness of my sleep (or lack there of) and instead I started reflecting on my life that I love and starting making a list of what I have observed over the last year:

  • The best gift I ever received was not in my five year plan
  • Friends are the family you choose
  • Christ is Christ in any language
  • The children's schedule is more important than mine - take the time where you can
  • Prince Charming does exist
  • I like comments on my blog
  • Gossip sucks
  • I still need my mom at age 37
  • The cost of freedom may actually be just another bill
  • As much as I like to travel I like my home even more
  • "The Gods first make mad those they want to destroy"
  • Trust and you are loved
  • "My sister taught me everything I need to know - and she was only in sixth grade at the time"
  • love America
  • The destination matters most when you are dead - enjoy the journey
  • Loyalty, Integrity and Sensitivity is what it is all about
  • Work doesn't define me
  • Everyone has to belong
  • Scaling back is not such a bad thing - it in fact brings me joy

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks of these things in the middle of the night.
Also that I'm not the only one who still needs my mom :-)

Wow, it's the 333 post of the year and prince charming is mentioned in it.

Deep thoughts of the early morning. Life is definitely what we make it. I love you so much. Mom

Moments of clarity are blessings.

great list! you are very introspective when you wake up to silliness... I tend to just be grouchy when unexpectedly woken up ;) My list would like something like this:

-why does the alarm clock glow brighter at 3am than at 10pm?
-how do these dogs expect me to sleep when they are sprawled out only on MY side of the bed?
-does Chris realize how loudly he snores?!

Love this one: Loyalty, Integrity and Sensitivity is what it is all about.

Maybe I should look for a prince charming, none are knocking on my door:(

I think the amazing part of taking these vitamins is I am actually thinking better. Mom

Some great observations. I still need my Mom at 37, too. You're lucky you still have yours.

Yeah, my middle of the night is more like the Queen's with my own little game of "how long did I get to sleep that time?" Love that it's post 333!

This is a GREAT list! I'm even older than 37 and I still need my Mommy and am so glad that I don't have to do math in my head anymore when I want to call her...

Isn't it great to wake yourself up laughing rather than crying? If I'm going to wake up in the middle of the night I hope it is because I'm laughing as well!!
