I live on AZ for a reason

For 35 years I had no control of the thermostat. For the first 20, during the winter monthes I bundled up. For the next 15 I was too hot.

It wasnt until I lived in the Jasmine house bundling up in 56 degree house for 2 monthes that Kim inquired as to "why didn't I just turn on the heat". It was a shocking epiphany that I had that, power.

I sometimes forget. After Tarzan mocked my nest last night the heat got turned up from 67 to 75 this am.

Janes Addiction

3 weeks ago I discovered WordFeud on Tarzan's phone. Since he is not a lover of word games I was perplexed (for those that care this word played in it's entirety without any bonus points would garner 23 points) and was happily informed that Jess downloaded it for him.

It has become my new addiction. I have made several new friends (random opponents ) and have invited both Kim (best word yet is Grosz on a triple word) and Tarzan (he even played fully loaded on Nyquil) to play several games.

Better yet, REM and CEM played a live game with me and are willing to be trained as competitors.

My highest score included in photo for any kudos (kudos =12 points ) that want to be given.

Terrible

Two seasons ago I complained non stop about the shoe styles.

Over time I have come to accept open toed shoes and have been able to locate many styles that have not offended me.

That said, thank goodness all of shoes captured in this hideous photo at Steinmart today are on clearance.

Hungry Anyone?

Saturday after the walk we went for breakfast. The wait turned into lunch as we waited for a table of 11. When we sat down we quickly received water but sat for 5 minutes without menus


Finally I decided to take control of the situation before anyone from my group decided to turn postal. (Blood sugar was running pretty low).

I go to the front hostess stand and there is one destroyed menu
I then go to the bus boy. And ask for menus and he gives me a look that was somewhere between "I am stupid" and "panic". Finally after 15 seconds he says "go see the hostess in the back, she is tracking them".

Ok, so I see her in the back and approach her "ma'am can we get some menus"

"Um um um. Ok here's the deal. Our new menus get here at 2 pm. We only have 5 good ones left
If you can order from these three it would probably be best since the table with those 5 menus are having a hard time making a decision and holding the whole restaurant up"

3 years ago CEM and I found this cool mirror at Goodwill. Her room was decorated with Disney princeses and it became "Mirror Mirror on the Wall -- Who's the fairest of them all".

We modeled her room this weekend from Princess to Rock Star. Not ready to see the mirror go she had full permission to redecorate it to match.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and Targeting Hope

For November Christmas today we decided to give back to the community. So we joined the Arizona Breast Cancer Specialists Targeting Hope team (camera faulted during team photo - good luck picking anyone out).

Had a great time with friends; new and old and we are feeling blessed for our health and girls that fight!!!!

We are celebrating November Christmas in 2010. Tonight we put the tree up, CEM got to do the skirt, REM got to do the star and MJM was the straightener of the branches (the declared worst job). My job? Memory maker and reminderer.

To Jan with love

In 22 days the first of my BFF’s turn 40. Chris was the first to drive, one of the first to get married and have babies, and the first to reach the milestone. I remember when Tami hit this point and was emotional and I guess I didn’t really get it. I am now here and struggling with the emotions that come with it. My kids are growing, I am aging, and the world keeps turning.

My mom is the same age Tami was when Tami got married. I am the same age my mom was when she took me to see Tears for Fears, and Miranda is the same age I was when I had my first kiss. I am blessed to experience this thing called life with the love of my life, an incredible family and wonderful friends. I am blessed that my mother has great genes and is still here to hold my hand when I need it.

Mortality is at my fingertips. My grandma died and was sad. My cousin Scott died at 35 and I cried. Thes wisest young person and friend Jan now has cancer and it has knocked me to the core. The world is moving fast and we are praying and fighting with you!
