Melody boldly stated two years ago: "Home Depot; you can do it we won't help". Today as I was gathering paint and wall paper removal supplies, I was reminded a couple times how great there logo was. When I was at Lowes I asked the associate what there logo was. He pulled out a map with a printed logo and said "Improving Home Improvement". He was wrong. A frequenter who lives in Pasadena informed me it is "Lets build something together".

So:
1. Who has the better logo?
2. Lowes vs. Home Depot?

Starting with their logo Lowe's beats out Home Depot everytime.
Some Lowe's trivia for you:
*Lowe's has had one class action lawsuit. It was settled on September 22nd.
*Lowe's expanded to Canada in 2007 and will be expanding to Mexico in 2008.
*In 2006 Lowe's changed their slogan from the "Improving Home Improvement" to "Lets build something together"
*Lowe's does not have an aisle 13
*The first Lowe's opened the year my grandmother was born, 1921.
Home Depot for sure! You know how the mid-west loves their NASCAR sponsorship.
Wish I was there to help, can't wait to hear more details.
I love Lowe's...they always have what we need, and they actually help you!
To Adam: Hmm, some nascar fan you are.In addition to sponsoring a driver, lowes also has lowes motor speedway, home depot can't say that.
I'm going with Lowes on this one (and sticking to my preference for all stores not named something Depot).
However, there is a Home Depot closer to me, and I will often go there out of convenience, if I'm not in need of assistance.
I must admit, I'm partial to Lowe's. It is closer to my house, but I think I'd go to it even if Home Depot was closer. Also--too much orange I think.

I will have to vote for Home Depot bc my nephew works there and enjoys some perks. However, they're opening a Lowe's 5 mins from my house, so I think we'll be shopping there mostly.
Kim - wow
I guess I have bias towards Home Depot because of Grant.
When I was younger I HATED going to Home Depot...It was Dad's favorite store. He would drag me there and I would complain the entire time. Everytime we went I thought to myself, "This time, I will find something in this store that I want/need. Something will appeal to me." It never happened.
One time, I was in Home Depot and I was drinking a Coke. An employee came up to me and asked me to throw it away, as they didn't want it spilling on the floor. I was like, "What? Seriously? The floor is made of concrete!!!" Complaining ensued.
Now that I am older, I see the value in stores like the aforementioned. Guess thats a part of growing up. :)
I have never been to a Lowe's--I'll have to check it out.
Happy New Year!

I do not like to go to Home Depot or Lowes because it means I will have to do some sort of work. I mostly go to Home Depot when needed because it is nearest to me but a Lowe's is being built even closer so that may change.

PS. Love the braids!

Location, location, location. Lowes on Higley is best, Home Depot on Dobson is better.
Edward at Lowes loves the blog and that gains all kinds of points.
