Look Mom
I'm standing on Jupiter
I'm standing on Pluto
Look mom I'm standing on a fire hydrant!
The fun continues with REM standing on the ground and CEM "standing on whatever the crap this is"
Compass Arizona Grill
Looking beautiful (no it doesn't look like a wedding dress) , playing with her mother
And hanging with her sister
And the best 2 quotes of the evening came from the revolving waitress, "they are sisters right? You rarely see sisters get along that well" and "I wanted to write something clever on your desert for celebrating not going to Honecoming, all we could come up with was congratulations"

For Alice
Quotes from my tired brain this week
While describing The Glades tv show to Jess, "the main character is a murder finder"
While talking to hair dresser, "you don't date henna, you marry henna"
While talking to Sydney about kindergarten , "is Mrs Mellen a boy or girl teacher"
While talking to REM about fundraiser ,"I'll just buy them all, I'm a cool mom right?"
When cooking dinner with CEM,"You'll like this chicken, it's spicy so he doesn't taste like chicken"

Time to get stock
Sunday morning I was laying in bed playing word feud on my iPhone while cuddling with CEM watching Hugo on the iPad.
Jess walks in "how many apple products do you think we have in the house?"
I immediately answered 22 (number picked for obvious reasons).
She says "dad says 23 but I think he underestimating his iPads"
After a quick calculation - we have 26 (though there is a current discrepancy on the iPod count)
She then says, "the only reason I asked is when I walked in to watch football dad was searching for fans on the iPad, REM was on candy crush and MJM was texting. All I have to say to that was: remember when families spent time together."
Time for stock both in apple and in family Togetherness!

Diva Dos
We are always up for trying the latest hair styling tools at my house (thank goodness orange juice containers and cans are so 1960s).
Overall review:
Sleeping sucked (more for me than her on those little straws. Stomach sleeping ain't for me).
We both loved outcome but mine only lasted until 2 pm hers not much longer.
With total time extended (including non sleep hours), I will most often use curling iron. Which was used today, took 20 min and still looks good.

Mercy
There are a few things that excited my mom growing up that bring back great memories for me. The Neil Diamond era was one; an amazing recitation of every song and emotion after watching the Jazz Singer. Next was her telling me about Somewhere in Time (I was sitting on the floor of her sewing room in Utah. She was mending) I listened intently as she told me every detail of Jane Seymour and Christopher Reeve, who in her words was strikingly handsome, fall in love being from different decades. Her excitement of this show (and description of him pulling out the wrong coin) made it my favorite before I ever saw it and years later resulted in CEMs middle name being that of Janes character Elise McKenna. And of course the Don Williams concert. Don, a humble country boy, who in her words "just sat in the middle of the stage and talked and sang to us". Best Friend, Yellow Moon, Amanda, Some Broken Hearts Never Mend, I believe in you, Tulsa time, Good Ole Boy Like Me were all songs that we grew up to and sang along with. Every time his songs come on I think of her full joy of watching his concert.
A couple of weeks ago she asked if I wanted to go to his concert tonight. A drive to Tucson after what I knew would be a travel day, and I wasn't going to miss it. After an exhausting day I questioned my judgement in saying yes until I saw her eyes light up when he came on stage. Singing under her breath on some songs and loudly on others. And being one of the first for standing ovation. A memory today that will not be forgotten, and shared with some pretty cool people.
Happy Birthday Lilia
I was looking through my pics to post a great one of the beautiful child. I went over to her moms blog to grab ones from her photo shoot and this one was just posted.
This is amazing. Capturing the spirit of a child is not easy. For me this did it.
Happy birthday! You are loved!!

Memory of a grandma: and probably just allergies
Today while headed to lunch Tarzan sneezed 4 times. I said, "was that four sneezes I think that means you get a letter".
Both he and Jess looked at me oddly.
What you've never heard the old wives tale about sneezing?
And again they looked at me oddly.
According to google:
Sneeze once for sorrow; Sneeze twice for joy; Sneeze three times for a letter; Sneeze four times for a boy; Sneeze five times for silver; Sneeze six times for gold; Sneeze seven times for a secret that never will be told.
So I was wrong four times is for a boy.
And one more reason I love my Grandma O'Haver who recited her poem every time someone had multiple sneezes.
ADDENDUM
See moms comments. She got it right ;)
My husband wears green
A lot. In fact there is a guy at work that wore green in the audience and my eye kept thinking it was Tarzan.

What makes mom happy
The smile, nothing makes me happier!
And great stained glass as made for her fine arts class. I will hand proudly. And remember the smile.
