Better off Dead

I watched my favorite 80's movie with the girls this weekend (thanks mom!). Best movie quotes of all times:

-"Hey Rickey I'm Sorry I blew up your mother"
-"I want my $2 dollars"
-"Tenticles, Tenticles - big difference Monique"
-"Pure Snow - do you realize the street value of this mountain?"
-"Everyone will be wearing them this year"
-"French Fries, French Dressing, French Bread and PERU"
-"Because your girlfriend Beth called it if I recall 'tasty'"

If you havent seen it, it's a must!

I laughed. They laughed at me.

Jacob's love

True love is when you squeeze your bride's head in your armpit while she tries to sneak a drink. It is also true love when she pops her collar and he gives her a nuggie. At least he is not a werewolf.

ANSWER TO QUIZ

I was actually a sad mom.

Melody pushed me in the pool and took my phone for safe keeping. This made me happy to play.

She then took my phone and taunted me and then took a picture for "prosperity". This made me sad.

She then locked me out of the house. This too made me sad.

And now she is in First Grade

Fresh and Easy

Every time I go to my parents house something blogworthy occurs. Let it be said that the majority of the time out of respect for the cornerstone of the family I do not document these happenings. However, this evening i find that I must.
.

I walk into the house and see Ruth's shoes. Immediately the camera comes out with the "where the heck did those come from" (in case you care she got them free after her half marathon). A conversation about shoes follows.

Mom then opens the dishwasher. Ruth defending her honor says, "If you are going to take a picture of my shoes then you should take a picture of those".

Mom to Dad: "Why are your shoes in the dishwasher"
Dad to Mom: "I had to have someway to clean the dog poop off the shoes"
Mom to Dad: "DAVID! I so didn't need to know that"
Dad to Mom: "Aww I'm just kidding"

1984 Olympics

In Honor of 2008 Olympics (08-08-08 at 8), Flashback Friday brings the Young Family at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles. Note all 7 wearing matching shirts (one of many trips to do so). I was 12 at the time so I thought if I wore overalls I would blend better with the crowd instead of a big family.
.
Ruth is my side kick, Alice is Tami's. And there is Joe peeking behind my shoulder.
.
Darn what a cute family :)

I can be......a soccer coach

Grandma bought Jessica a new Barbie set last week. Jessica and I played for hours; I got to be the 2 children being coached (note that the set comes with all the appropriate accessories for playing soccer - including juice boxes - we were so glad that the brush was bigger than both of the children's heads.

On the outside of the box (Who writes this stuff?):

Coaching soccer is the best1 The girls love to run around, and it's a great way to stay in shape! Someday you can be a soccer coach too!

What Grandma doesn't know is that when we went to Wal-Mart Barbie section to buy a Barbie for a birthday party Melody proudly reported that Grandma got a better deal at Fry's. Perhaps this box would read

Shopping is the best! I can be..........a bargain shopper!

My D Gate Friend

Everytime I fly out of the D Gates in Phoenix my little friend comes and says hi. (Alice even got to meet him once). Today I finally got a pic.

Pardon the Intrusion

What do Lucinda and Robert have in common?

Lucinda comes after Kim in outlook contacts
Robert comes after Kim in blackberry messenger

And you say so?

*Lucinda gets a call from me at least once a week from me when I am trying to call Kim
*Robert is now used to getting random photos and off the wall messages

Sometimes it really does happen inadvertently :)

My new pool!

Yesterday Ruth surprised us with a blow up pool for my poor children who have to improvise on a hot summer day (and as a tropical get a way for mom).
.
The kids had so much fun. First they got to get wet with the hose while it filled up. Then they got to jump in a swim around...........................for 10 minutes at which time our neighbor leaned over the fence and offered for them to come swim in a real pool (which they did for the next 2 hours).
